BDTI's Guide to the LSI Logic ZSP Family

A BDTI Technical Evaluation

ZSP Cores Report Cover

This report provides independent analysis and evaluation of the ZSP family of processor cores from LSI Logic. The ZSP cores are a family of 16-bit, fixed-point, superscalar DSP cores that primarily target multimedia, voice, and wireless baseband applications. LSI Logic offers the ZSP cores in a variety of forms, including licensable cores, captive cores, chip-scale packages, and the LSI40x family of DSP chips. The ZSP cores are also used in application-specific standard products (ASSPs) offered by LSI Logic and its licensees.

BDTI's Guide to the LSI Logic ZSP Family is a 60-page report that provides core-by-core, application-by-application analysis explaining which ZSP cores are suited to what applications and why. It identifies strengths and weaknesses, and compares the ZSP cores to other licensable cores and packaged processors. It will be especially useful for executives, marketing managers, chip designers, electronic system designers, hardware and software engineers, and engineering managers.
