BDTI Environment
Who - We are a small (and growing!) technical services and software company founded in
1991 by U.C. Berkeley faculty and researchers. Our high-caliber staff make this a diverse workplace
focused on producing quality products while having fun.
What - Our focus is in-depth knowledge of digital signal processing implementation
technology. We are internationally recognized as experts in this field.
Where - Our opportunities are available in Oakland, CA, a few miles from the University of California
at Berkeley campus and walking distance to public transportation. The San Francisco Bay Area provides a high quality of life
with easy access to cultural attractions and outdoor activities.
When - Full-time employees generally start work by 9:00 AM and do what needs to be done
to keep projects on time. Occasionally evening or weekend hours are necessary to accomplish this;
mostly we work Monday through Friday.
Why - We are the world's leading independent evaluator of DSP implementation technology
including processors, design tools, and software. We also develop DSP firmware and assist our customers
in developing processors and tools. Our customers expect high-quality work, and we deliver. We take pride in our work.
How - Each person is responsible for doing what it takes to get the job done right.
While employees have general job descriptions, there is room for flexibility. Initiative is appreciated;
multi-tasking is a definite. While we're busy getting our jobs done and keeping priorities straight, an
occasional foam bat and ball appear for brief batting practice, music may trickle from someone's office,
and jeans may be spotted standing next to a pair of dockers or a skirt. Employees often informally gather
in the conference room for lunch.
