We provide our customers with products and services in the following areas:

DSP Software Development

  • Develop optimized assembly and high-level language implementations from existing algorithms and applications on a wide variety of DSPs and general-purpose processors.
  • Specify and develop DSP algorithms for such applications areas as audio, telecommunications, and multimedia.
  • Translate existing implementations for one processor into optimized solutions for a different processor.

Analysis, Evaluation, and Benchmarking of DSP Technology

  • Perform in-depth technical evaluations of DSP processors.
  • Analyze DSP algorithms and applications.
  • Evaluate design tools and advise on tool selection and design methodologies.
  • Design and implement benchmarking methodologies for processors and tools.
  • Develop specifications and recommendations for new DSP software, processors, and tools.
  • Publish technical reports and books on DSP technology, including "Buyer's Guide to DSP Processors," "DSP on General-Purpose Processors," "DSP Design Tools and Methodologies," and "DSP Processor Fundamentals."

The Job

We seek exceptional engineering professionals to help us expand our growing software development business.

In this position, your responsibilities may include:

  • Developing DSP application software. You might be optimizing assembly code for a next-generation personal communications device one day and crafting digital audio applications the next.
  • Developing DSP algorithms. You may be working directly with clients or BDTI staff to understand needs and solve challenging technical problems.
  • Evaluating and reporting on DSP processors, DSP applications, DSP algorithms, and software tools. (Your contributions will be used for both our published reports and for custom consulting/advisory projects for our clients.)

Examples of the types of work that fall into this category:

  • Benchmarking new DSP and/or general-purpose processors to understand their performance and advantages/disadvantages.
  • Devise and conduct experiments to determine the utility of new DSP processor architectural features.
  • Analyzing different types of DSP software tools to create recommendations for our clients.
  • Exploring new areas of DSP technology in depth.
  • Developing specifications and recommendations for new DSP software, processors, and tools.

To be successful in this position, you must be able to manage multiple concurrent assignments, with multiple deadlines.

If you have most of the following, we want to hear from you:

  • Software development skills, both HLL and assembly.
  • Familiarity with one or more programmable DSP processors.
  • Solid understanding of DSP fundamentals.
  • Solid understanding of one or more DSP application areas at the algorithm, system, and implementation levels.
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills.
  • Strong organizing skills.
  • Familiarity with digital hardware concepts.
  • Familiarity with a variety of design and development tools.
  • An ability and willingness to juggle multiple assignments, adapt to fast-changing circumstances, and do what it takes to get the job done.
